My Comments:

My portfolio extended its outperformance against the STI Index for the month of February 2009 (-2.89% vs -8.68%). YTD: Portfolio -3.14% vs STI -9.46%. The only transactions I've made in February was to participate in Ascendas Reit's rights issue. I've successfully gotten all the lots I've applied for.

My portfolio was lifted by Keppel Corp (+7.9%)& Noble Group's (+2.9%) positive performance during the month. On the other hand, OCBC is the significant underperformer, down 13.0% for Feb.

hey hi there,

i remember you were holding some other stocks last time. did you liquidated them all?

i am still holding on to huge paper losses :( not really good at timing the market. anyway it does not matter as the meltdown is more of a systematic failure. so all the stocks held from long time ago are down at the moment unless you manage to lock in the profit. all the best!

Hi Mike,

Oh you still remember last year. My big problem last year was that I traded too much (played with too many warrants!). When I reviewed and found that I actually suffered less losses by just holding on to my stocks, I came up with a new objective of just outperforming the STI Index for 2009, and tracking my portfolio every month.

Kept my discipline rather well past 2 months:). Only participated in the rights issue for A-Reit. I foresee having to go for he CapitaMall Trust rights issue this month as well, since I have some of its shares.

I have actually amazed by your composure during the past year. You have even managed to add on so many stocks!

Hi Nigel,

of course i still remember you were holding similar stocks with me like Rotary. Thats why i was surprised to see a different portfolio.

well for me, my strategy is simple. i dont buy shares in big amount. thats why i can manage to buy many stocks from different sectors. after i buy, i will rarely monitor individual stocks performance and thats why i rarely buy then sell those stocks.

by keeping a number of stocks and keeping the invested amount small for each stock, i can diversify and make sure 1 or 2 rotten stocks will not dampen my overall portfolio.

anyway all the best to you!
